    Information on Programs Offered:

    Business Administration Associate of Applied Science Program - The Business Administration Program is designed to advance the student's knowledge in today's business office environments. The student's course work includes subjects that are fundamental to the operation of an office, such as accounting, spreadsheets, databases, word processing, communications and more.

     

    The increased use of computers has created a demand for specialist to provide technical support to users, as well as for day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of computer networks.

    The Computer and Network Administration Program provides training in computer networking, including how to install, configure, maintain, and support local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), Internet systems, and wireless configurations that use a diverse number of network operating systems. This program also includes training in the fundamentals of network security best practices and in a number of Microsoft Active Directory principles. In addition, the curriculum includes a study of general computer science, including computer architecture, networking principles, and desktop and server operating systems and applications.

    As a graduate of this program, you may qualify for entry-level positions such as:

    • Network Operator
    • Network Support Technician
    • Computer Help Desk Specialist
    • Computer Support Specialist
    • Information Technology Support Specialist

    Upon completion of the 24-month program, graduates will be awarded an Associate of Science or an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer and Network Administration depending on the state in which the campus is located.

    Cosmetologists help maintain and improve the appearance of hair, skin and nails through services, treatments and the understanding of product technology.

    The Cosmetology Program at Remington College provides training in the skills needed to obtain entry - level positions within the beauty industry. Some areas of study include:

    • Product Knowledge
    • Hair Styling, Cutting, Coloring and Chemical Services
    • Employer and Client Communication
    • Hair and Skin Care

    Full-time students should complete the program in 12 months. Upon successful completion of the Cosmetology Program, graduates will receive a diploma in cosmetology

    Criminal Justice Associate of Applied Science Program - Prepare for entry or advancement into the challenging and exciting field of Criminal Justice. Potential Careers upon completion of this program include, but are not limited to:

    • Crime Prevention
    • Juvenile Justices

    Prepare for a new career - There are a wide variety of culinary establishments found today, everything from small restaurants to large banquet facilities. These types of businesses require individuals who are trained in a variety of culinary areas to ensure their customers are treated appropriately. These areas include measuring, mixing, and cooking ingredients according to recipes, as well as directing other kitchen workers, estimating food requirements, and ordering food supplies.

    Culinary Arts Associate of Applied Science Program - The objective of the Culinary Arts Program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions in the many different types of culinary facilities. These positions include, but are not limited to, short-order cooks, cafeteria cooks, food preparers, and sous chefs.

     

    Prepare for a new career - The Digital Graphic Arts curriculum provides students with instruction in the following fields: visualization, the creative process, graphic design, production art, typography, layout, photography and digital imaging. In addition, students are given instruction and advice on preparation of resumes, final portfolio and techniques for successful job interviews.

    Digital Graphic Arts Associate of Applied Art Program - The objective of the program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions in such areas as:

    • Desktop Publishing
    • Advertising Agencies
    • Design firms
    • Newspapers/Magazines
    • Web-based Design
    • Printing Companies
    • Trade show/Exhibit Specialists
    • Corporations with art departments
    • Outdoor Advertising & Transportation

    Become a Medical Assistant - Medical assistants have become an important part of the health care team and their responsibilities continue to expand as the need for their services grows.

    Medical Assisting Diploma Program - The objective of the Medical Assisting Program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions, such as:

    • Medical Assistant
    • Administrative Assistant
    • Medical Receptionist
    • Medical Insurance Biller

    Medical assistants have become an important part of the health care team and their responsibilities continue to expand as the need for their services grows. According to the Department of Labor, medical assisting is projected to be one of the fastest growing occupations through 2014.

    The objective of the Medical Assisting with X-ray and EKG Diagnostic Emphasis Program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will help prepare them for entry-level medical assisting positions that may include X-ray and EKG responsibilities. In addition to the Medical Assisting Program, the X-Ray and EKG Diagnostic Emphasis curriculum is designed to help prepare medical assistants for additional registration and state certifications.*

    This Program usually requires 52 weeks to complete, including a 144-clock hour externship requirement. If you have completed the Medical Assisting Program at Remington College within the last few years, you may be able to transfer in your Medical Assisting credits, which could allow you to complete the Medical Assisting with X-ray and EKG Diagnostic Emphasis Program in as little as 12 weeks.

    The objective of the Medical Insurance and Coding Program is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions in medical insurance billing. The program takes about 8 or 9 months to complete.  When you complete the Medical Insurance and Coding Program, you will be awarded a diploma and should have the basic skills and knowledge to start your career as a medical coder.  Contact your local campus for more details.

    Pharmacy Technician Diploma Program - This program will provide learning experiences, coordinated with the texts and lab activities to enable graduates to obtain basic competency needed for employment as Pharmacy Technicians in either the hospital or retail setting. A technician is an individual who, under the supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the performance of activities of the pharmacy department not requiring the professional judgment of a pharmacist.
