About Us
Texas Careers was founded as Moderncare, Inc. and taught the certified Nurse Aide program. Texas Careers received approval from the Texas Department of Health-Nurse Aide Registry and Training Program on April 12, 1989. The program was expanded on April 6, 1990 to include the certified Home Health Aide course. In October 1993, Kathy Bradshaw became the majority stockholder of Texas Careers. Upon successful completion, the student is awarded a certificate in Vocational Nursing and is eligible to take the NCLEX-PN, a Texas state examination for licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). Texas Careers opened a branch campus in Laredo, Texas in April 1999 and a branch campus in Beaumont, Texas in October 2000. Both branch campuses offer the Medical Assistant, Medical Office Specialist, and Computer Office Technology programs.
