    Information on Programs Offered:

In today's world, virtually every building we visit and every man-made environment we explore is the product of Computer-Aided Design (CAD). The people who utilize Computer-Aided Design tools are professionals in a field that work on everything from the design of residences and commercial office space, to sports stadiums and public parks. Students who would like to combine their interests in architecture, engineering, or drafting with a rewarding high-tech career should explore options in Computer-Aided Design.

The Computer-Aided Design (Architectural Drafting) Program equips students with the skills necessary to become a candidate for many careers available to the skilled CAD operator. Architectural Drafting students receive training on recent releases of AutoCAD, a popular CAD application that provides experience in developing technical drawings related to the field of architecture.

Computer networks are the backbones of companies. In Westwood's Associate Degree Program, you will learn how to design, build, maintain, and upgrade sophisticated computer systems for business and industry that allow people from around the world to maintain access to information and to each other. This career program focuses on the technical aspects of computer networking.

The Computer Network Engineering program is designed to provide students with the skills required to design, install, configure, and maintain enterprise-wide networks. In addition, the combination of technical and general education courses in the program helps students develop skills in critical thinking, logic, communication, and problem-solving. The program helps prepare students for entry-level jobs in the industry including network administrator and computer support specialist.

If you have a strong creative sense and enjoy using the computer, you might be suited for a career in graphic design. Designers work on everything from illustrations and advertising layouts to animation and multimedia production. This program teaches the fundamentals of graphic design and gives you hands-on experience with industry relevant technology to prepare you for this fun and creative career.

The Graphic Design and Multimedia program prepares students for entry-level jobs in the graphic design and multimedia industry. Students learn to create effective designs that communicate visually in both print and multimedia environments. The combination of technical and general education courses in the program helps students develop skills in critical thinking, logic, communication, and problem solving. The program prepares graduates for positions as graphic designers, production artists, web page designers, and multimedia designers within a diverse industry.

Medical Assistants perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices and clinics of physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors and optometrists running smoothly.

The Medical Insurance Coding and Billing Program equips students with the skills necessary to play a key role in the financial operations of the medical and health care fields. The diploma program is designed for those who are interested in the medical field, but are more directed toward administration and business. It includes preparation in processing insurance claims in accordance with professional, legal, and insurance industry standards.
