Information on Programs Offered:Aviation Technician Diploma The Aviation Technician Program is designed to provide the necessary educational opportunities through classroom and laboratory teaching for a person to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to enter industry as an entry-level Airframe and Powerplant Technician. Graduates will be eligible to take the Federal Aviation Administration examinations. Upon successful completion of the written exams, the graduate will be eligible to take the oral and practical examinations to complete the requirements for the FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate. With the FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate, the aviation technician may enter a number of employment areas, such as general aviation, fixed-base operations, executive aircraft services, domestic and international airlines, aircraft contractors, modification operations, aircraft engine and component manufacture. The Aviation Technician Diploma program consists of 85 credit hours, 2080 contact hours, and is 52 weeks in length. Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Office Administration The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Office Administration is a competency-based program designed to provide for development of the knowledge and skills required for an entry-level position in business, industry, healthcare, or government environments. It is designed for those seeking entry-level employment and for those currently employed who are seeking promotion. The curriculum includes general education courses, applied general education courses, and occupational courses. The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Office Administration program consists of 72 semester hours and 1440 contact hours, and is 48 weeks (day) and 72 weeks (evening) in length. Associate of Applied Science in Computer Network Systems Technology The Associate of Applied Science in Computer Network Systems Technology Degree is a competency-based program designed to provide for development of knowledge and skills required for entry-level employment in the Information Technology industry. The curriculum includes general education courses, a basic networking core, and advanced networking classes in Cisco, Proxy Server, Migrations, Microsoft Exchange and Network Security. Instruction consists of lecture reinforced by laboratory projects designed to aid in learning microcomputer hardware, software, and network installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and administration. The Computer Network Systems Technology program is designed to prepare students for a career in the Information Technology industry as Network Administrators, Microcomputer Technicians, Network Technicians, Administrators Engineers, and Internetworking/Router Technicians. Students successfully completing the program would obtain a strong background in the appropriate core sub-disciplines of Computer Hardware, Computer Software, Networking, Internetworking Router Devices, Email Administration, and Network Security. The Associate of Applied Science in Computer Network Systems Technology consists of 72 semester hours, 1472 contact hours, and is 48 weeks (day) and 72 weeks (evening) in length. Medical Assistant, Associate of Applied Science The Medical Assistant Associate of Applied Science Degree is a competency-based program designed to provide for development of knowledge and skills required for entry-level employment in healthcare, business, industry, or government environments. It is designed for those seeking entry-level employment and those currently employed who are seeking promotion. The curriculum includes general education courses, applied general education courses, and occupational courses. This program will prepare the graduate to sit for certification exams. The Associate of Applied Science Degree Medical Assistant program consists of 72 semester hours, 1488 contact hours, and is 48 weeks (day) and 72 weeks (evening) in length. The Medical Assistant Associate of Applied Science Degree is a competency-based program designed to provide for development of knowledge and skills required for entry-level employment in healthcare, business, industry, or government environments. It is designed for those seeking entry-level employment and those currently employed who are seeking promotion. Powerplant Technician, Associate of Applied Science in Airframe and Powerplant Technology The Powerplant Technician Program is designed to provide the necessary educational opportunities through classroom and laboratory teaching for a person to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to enter industry as an entry -level Powerplant Technician. Graduates will be eligible to take the Federal Aviation Administration examinations. Upon successful completion of the written exams, the graduate will be eligible to take the oral and practical examinations to complete the requirements for the FAA Powerplant Certificate. With the FAA Powerplant Certificate, the powerplant technician may enter a number of employment areas, such as general aviation, fixed-base operations, executive aircraft services, domestic and international airlines, aircraft contractors, modification operations, aircraft engine and component manufacture.
