    Information on Programs Offered:

    The Administrative Assistant is a key person in the orderly operation of an office and is prepared for future advancement to any executive clerical position within a company. An Administrative Assistant must possess a good knowledge of general business and have the ability to learn all procedures becoming an expert in dealing with all documents and forms applicable to any office. Special emphasis is placed on the mechanics of business communications, as well as accounting procedures and personnel supervision techniques. "Hands-on" training is also included for both word processing and data entry.Directly supervise and coordinate activities of clerical and administrative support workers. Manger/Supervisors are generally found in smaller establishments where they perform both supervisory and management functions, such as accounting, marketing, and personnel work. In addition, Manager/Supervisors may also engage, in part, in the same administrative work as the workers they supervise.Performs any combination of the following: calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. Complies and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions. Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and total accounts, using calculator or computer. Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items. May type vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records using typewriter or computer. May reconcile bank statements. May be designated according to type of accounting performed, such as Accounts Payable Clerk (clerical); Accounts Receivable Clerk (clerical); Bill Recapitulation Clerk (utilities); Rent and Miscellaneous Remittance Clerk (insurance); Tax-Record Clerk (utilities).Students completing the Legal Office Administration course will learn how to prepare legal papers and correspondence of the legal nature, such as summonses, complaints, motions, and subpoenas, using a typewriter or computer. may review law journals and other legal publications to identify court decisions pertinent to pending cases and submit articles to company officials. May organize and maintain legal files, and assist in the maintenance of the court appearance schedule.Students completing this Medical Assistant program will have the basic skills and knowledge, such as that necessary to properly administer oral, topical, and injectable medications, to assist with and documentation of routine clinical examinations and procedures, to perform tests common to a health care facility. The students also will have a basic knowledge of the various front office skills to allow them to assist those personnel, as well as the necessary clinical skills to become employed as ECG technicians, medical assistants, health unit coordinators, or surgical unit assistants as will be found in hospitals, clinics, and physician?s offices.The Medical Office Administration program will train students to perform duties utilizing specific knowledge of medical terminology and hospital, clinic, or laboratory procedures. Duties may also include preparing and coding bills to patients and insurance companies, recording appointments, recording patient histories and physicians notes, doing medical dictation and assuming responsibility for records management.

    Students completing this Medical Assistant program will have the basic skills and knowledge, such as that necessary to properly administer oral, topical, and injectable medications, to assist with and documentation of routine clinical examinations and procedures, to perform tests common to a health care facility. The students also will have a basic knowledge of the various front office skills to allow them to assist those personnel, as well as the necessary clinical skills to become employed as ECG technicians, medical assistants, health unit coordinators, or surgical unit assistants as will be found in hospitals, clinics, and physician’s offices.

    Students who successfully complete the Office Technology program will be able to operate a keyboard or other data entry device to enter data into a computer or onto magnetic take or disk for subsequent entry. Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from original source documents into computer, using data entry device, such as keyboard or optical scanner, and following format displayed on screen. Compares data entered with source documents, or re-enters data to detect errors. Deletes incorrectly entered data, and re-enters correct data. May compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data to be entered. May keep record of work completed. After completion of the program the student should be able to find a job in a variety of fields such as: Office Clerk, Secretary, Data Entry, Telemarketing, Administrative Clerk, Project Management Clerk, and General Secretary.2 Campus Locations:
