Information on Programs Offered:This exciting 16 to 20 month program can provide the student with entry-level skills to perform non-invasive cardiovascular exams, including EKG, stress EKG, echocardiographic and vascular testing as an entry-level cardiovascular technologist. Sanford-Brown Houston is pleased to offer a program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. This 16 to 20 month program can provide the student with preparation for entry-level responsibilities as a diagnostic medical sonographer. The curriculum addresses fundamental topics in sonographic physics and instrumentations, abdominal, small parts, OB/GYN, gray scale and color-flow Doppler sonography. Both day and evening programs include a full-time, unpaid clinical externship. This exciting 9 to 12 month program can provide the students with entry-level skills to assist physicians by performing administrative duties and basic clinical duties in an office or medical center. Health information specialists and medical billers/coders are trained professional members of the business and operations staff of todays health care industry. With todays constantly changing insurance and administrative information requirements in the medical field, they are important to the smooth operation of virtually any medical office. A career in health information technology is challenging and offers a variety of opportunities. There are career options in doctors offices, clinics, public health facilities, hospitals, nursing homes, insurance agencies, information services departments, and self-employment. This exciting 9 to 12 month program can provide the student with entry-level skills to perform processing, reporting, security and management of health information within the healthcare setting. Students may choose to enroll in either a day or evening program. Students can learn to conduct tests on blood, tissue and other specimens. The results of these tests are then used in the diagnosis and treatment of clinical patients conditions. Students can also have responsibilities for lab quality control, including preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment or the outsourcing of that repair. The Medical Lab Technician program is designed to prepare the students to enter into their profession in a variety of entry level positions; under the supervisor of physicians in a Doctors Office, lab managers or medical or clinical lab technologists in Hospitals or independent Laboratories.
This program can provide students with the appropriate general education, didactic theory, and hands-on-skills required to begin and/or enhance a career in Surgical Technology.
