    Information on Programs Offered:

    As a student of the dental assistant program, you can receive training in the knowledge and skills necessary to be an integral part of a dental practice. You can learn how to perform duties such as radiographs, instrument sterilization, tray setups, four-handed dentistry, equipment maintenance, impressions, model trimming, charting, and dental reception duties.

    This program is designed to help eligible students prepare for the certification of registration exam as approved by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE). This may include certification to perform certain radiologic procedures.*

    Our electrical technician program provides extensive instruction in the basic fundamentals of electricity and its practical applications. It provides the knowledge and technical skills used in residential, commercial, and industrial wiring, as well as instruction of the National Electrical Code and its application to safe electrical installations.

    Graduates may have the opportunity to work as entry-level electrical technicians on new construction projects, restoration sites, or in commercial or industrial maintenance positions.

Our Medical Assistant Diploma offers a diverse curriculum that can help prepare you with the knowledge and skills necessary for various entry-level positions in a doctor's office, clinic, or other medical facility.

    Our program provides instruction in both the clinical and administrative aspects of the field. The numerous courses offered can train you for specific duties such as assisting the physician with exams and minor surgery; administering medication; performing electrocardiographs, phlebotomy, and minor laboratory procedures; taking vital signs; interviewing patients for medical histories; medical record documentation; reception duties; insurance billing; and bookkeeping responsibilities.

    The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and designed to help eligible students prepare for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam sponsored by the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment (AAMAE).*

    In today's growing medical industry, doctors' offices, clinics, and hospitals are often seeking qualified employees. Our Medical Office Specialist Diploma can provide you the opportunity to become a candidate in this growing field. Graduates of this program may perform administrative duties in various medical settings including filing insurance claims for both group and private practice insurance, CPT-4 and ICD-9 coding, DRGs, medical transcription, accounts payable and receivable, patient files and filing systems, payroll and financial statements, and reception duties.

    The program is also designed to help eligible students prepare for the Medical Practice Coder (MPC) exam sponsored by American Certification Agency for Health Care Professionals (ACA).*

    With the introduction of so many new life-saving and life-enhancing medications, the pharmaceutical industry is growing rapidly. Now is the time to become an eligible candidate in this growing field. Our Pharmacy Technician Diploma can help provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to seek an entry-level position.

    Graduates of this program may perform general pharmaceutical duties such as reading physicians' orders and hospital charts; preparing medications for dispensing; keeping patients' medical profiles; maintaining inventory; generating billing; preparing third-party insurance forms; and preparing unit dose medications, IV admixtures, and sterile irrigations.

    The program is also designed to help eligible students prepare for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE), sponsored by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).*

    The role of a phlebotomy/EKG technician in health care is important to accurately diagnose and treat patients. Their skill in gathering information is important to physicians, hospitals, clinics, and labs. Our Phlebotomy/EKG Technician Diploma can provide you with the opportunity to become a candidate in this field.

    Graduates of this program can acquire the knowledge and technical skills that allow them to carry out specific duties that may include performing venipuncture by vacutainer, butterfly, and syringe methods; collecting capillary blood; performing electrocardiography with basic interpretation; and assisting with infection control, minor laboratory testing, medical record documentation, and data entry.

    The program is also designed to help eligible students prepare for the Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT) exam sponsored by the National Allied Health Test Registry, a division of the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP).*
