Financial Aid who those who qualify- Prior to enrolling at the College, all applicants are encouraged to explore the availability of financial aid funding through state and federal agencies. Financial aid information and application assistance is provided by the College financial aid office. Student financial Aid is assistance for students enrolled at least half time in participating schools. It helps to cover school expenses, including tuition, fees, room & board, books, supplies, and transportation. Most aid is need-based & the three types of aid are grants, loans & work student.
Previous Training- The College will consider awarding credit from accredited postsecondary institutions, various certification exams, and military training and experience. When evaluation is made of the student's transcript, credit may be awarded for courses successfully completed with a grade of "C" or better at another accredited postsecondary institution where course and credit values are comparable to those offered by the College. Transcripts from foreign institutions must meet the same requirements as domestic institutions, and must be translated. The College does not guarantee the transferability of credits from any of these sources.

San Antonio College of Medical & Dental Assistants's Computer Network Specialist program offers a curriculum that connects the knowledge and skills for a successful career with the changing needs of information technology. Utilizing technology and equipment commonly used in the industry, our program provides specialized instruction in computer hardware and software installation and configuration, troubleshooting, and procedures in microcomputer and networking environments, with a focus on Windows operating systems.
Dental Assistants have a variety of administrative and clinical duties. Some of the administrative responsibilities are appointment scheduling, answering the phone, completing patient files and insurance forms, and more. Dental Assistants also take vital signs, expose and develop dental radiographs (X- Rays), make dental impressions and models, and function as the dentist's extra pair of hands in an operation. Most professional dental assistants work in private offices, either for a single dentist or a group practice, and have a mixture of administrative and clinical responsibilities. At the San Antonio location, as part of our in-class training, our students will have the opportunity to treat actual patients in our in-house dental clinic. Learn The Skills and Knowledge You Need To Launch Your New Career - The objective of the HVAC program is to provide students with the electrical and mechanical knowledge and performance skills required of entry-level technicians to install, adjust, troubleshoot, maintain and repair residential and commercial refrigeration, heating and air conditioning equipment for proper operation and efficiency.As a professional Medical Assistant, our graduates can work in private physicians' offices and may have a combination of administrative and clinical responsibilities. Medical Assistants are often found in clinics or hospitals' admissions, patient records and insurance departments. Some Medical Assistants find employment in medical labs or blood banks. Graduates of this program may perform duties in both the administrative and clinical areas of a doctor's office, clinic, or other medical facilities. Some graduates may specialize in either clinical or administrative duties, but most perform duties in both areas. Specific duties may include assisting the physician with exams and minor surgery, administering medication, performing electrocardiographs, phlebotomy, minor laboratory procedures, taking vital signs, interviewing patients for medical histories, medical record documentation, reception duties, insurance billing, and bookkeeping duties. Medical Office Specialists are uniquely trained members of the health care team who are responsible for data entry, processing, and maintenance of important medical records. Using industry-related computer equipment and software, they provide a valuable service to the medical community by to providing data which indicate disease patterns and trends and make comparisons that may lead to new methods of diagnosis and treatment.

Medical Office Specialists are in demand in today's medical community. They are the key to an efficient, profitable office. The field of pharmacy technology can provide our graduates with stimulating work and positive growth potential in hospitals, clinics, skilled nursing facilities, retail pharmacies and insurance companies. Pharmacy Technicians assist the Pharmacist in processing prescription orders, maintaining inventories, patient profiles, prepackaging of medications, drug compounding, intravenous preparations and various other facets of an active and progressive pharmacy.
Externships- Our students will have the opportunity to practice the skills they learned in class during their externship in the final weeks of their training. As our graduates enter the pharmacology field, they become a vital part of the fascinating world of health care professionals. Phlebotomy/EKG Technician program overview- The objective of the Phlebotomy/EKG Technician program is to prepare students with the knowledge, technical skills, and work habits required for an entry-level position in the medical field. This program includes instruction in advanced phlebotomy procedures and electrocardiography techniques. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be awarded a diploma. Graduates may become Registered Phlebotomy Technicians by passing the Registered Phlebotomy Technician Examination. Graduates of this program may perform duties in the hospital, medical office, clinic, or private laboratory. Specific duties may include performing venipuncture by vacutainer, butterfly, and syringe methods, capillary blood collection, electrocardiography with basic interpretation, infection control, minor laboratory testing, medical record documentation, and data entry. 2 Campus Locations: McAllen, TX San Antonio, TX
